Tasting Notes

Nose

Malted barley, barley grist, lemon cake, honey and cinnamon

Palate

Very gentle and soft to start with. MOre of those fruity lemon notes, as well as some nice grapefruit notes, too. More of those honey and fresh barley notes. It’s really clean and reminds me of an even more gentle version of Dalwhinnie.

Finish

Very bready and leaning into that malted barley character again. Some more cinnamon and fresh honey notes.

Paul John Nirvana Indian Whisky Review — the question is whether it delivers on its promise. I sat down with a pour to find out.

A fruity and unpeated expression from the folks at Paul John in Goa. Somewhat of an entry level for their products, it’s a wonderful introduction into Indian whiskies. Malted barley, barley grist, lemon cake, honey and cinnamon Very gentle and soft to start with. MOre of those fruity lemon notes, as well as some nice grapefruit notes, too. More of those honey and fresh barley notes. It’s really clean and reminds me of an even more gentle version of Dalwhinnie. Very bready and leaning into that malted barley character again. Some more cinnamon and fresh honey notes. This is a great entry level product. It’s approachable, affordable and something that can really open worlds! The Bottom Line
