I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Dented Brick Limited Edition Barrel Finished Straight Rye Whiskey. Bottled at 45% abv, it promises genuine character.

Palate

I found this to be a very enjoyable sipping experience. There is enough complexity to stay interesting with successive sips, but not so much complexity that it will overwhelm the newer palate. Dented Brick does a great job managing the rye spice and complexity within a very limited age statement.rnrnHere the aging in cabernet cask added a soft note of red wine and balanced the underlying whiskey. I find some wine finished whiskeys do not work, but here the flavors seemed to be agreeable. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by this limited whiskey.

The Bottom Line

Dented Brick Limited Edition Barrel Finished Straight Rye Whiskey is outstanding — one of those bottles that reminds you why you fell in love with whiskey in the first place. If you see it, do not hesitate. This one earns a permanent spot on the shelf.
