Whisky Review: Talisker Distillers Edition 2023 landed on my desk at 45.8% abv, SRP $85 Cedar wood giving way to warm c, carrying a $85 Cedar wood giving way to warm campfire and charcoal price tag. Here is what I found.
Palate
Talisker is well balanced by the finishing cask. You feel the underlying 10-year whisky rise in the palate only to be tempered by the sweetness of the sherry. Despite being a younger whisky by Scotch standards it is balanced nicely by the Amoroso. I will say Amoroso doesnt necessarily compliment the Talisker here, it really provides guardrails and mutes the harsher notes of the Scotch.rnrnIts a nice Scotch and easy win for fans of Talisker.
Finish
10-year-old Scotch single malt finished in Amoroso-seasoned casks, 45.8% abv, SRP $85 Editor’s Note: This whiskey was either bought as a sample by Whiskeyful or provided to us as a review sample by the party behind it. The Bottom Line
Whisky Review: Talisker Distillers Edition 2023 delivers the goods. It is well-made, genuinely enjoyable, and at $85 Cedar wood giving way to warm campfire and charcoal represents solid value for what you are getting. I would happily buy this again.
