Poured this for a few mates who claim they don't like peated whisky and every one of them asked for a second dram. The sherry oak really rounds out the smoke — you get dried fruit, a touch of orange peel, and just enough peat to remind you it's Islay. Great with a splash of water.

At £93 I expected a bit more complexity for a 15 year old. Don't get me wrong, the sherry influence is pleasant — raisins, toffee, a hint of peat — but it feels like it pulls its punches at 43% ABV. Would love to try this at cask strength.

I've tried most of the Bowmore range and this one just nails the balance between peat smoke and sherry sweetness. The nose is all stewed plums and baking spice, and the finish has this lovely lingering warmth. Bought a second bottle before I'd finished the first.

Picked this up on a whim and I'm genuinely impressed. Rich sherry notes up front — figs, dark honey, a bit of nutmeg — then the peat comes through clean on the finish without overpowering anything. At 43% it's very approachable neat. Would buy again at this price point.
