8.2/10A rare and finite Speyside single malt from the long-silent Dallas Dhu distillery, bottled at 23 years old by Historic Scotland. At £900 it demands consideration, but for collectors and serious enthusiasts, this is heritage worth drinking.

6 reviewsI visited Dallas Dhu distillery years ago and never thought I'd actually taste their whisky. At 23 years old and 46% ABV, this has beautiful honeyed orchard fruit on the nose with old leather and a wisp of peat smoke. Drinking a dram from a closed distillery feels special every single time. Sipped neat, obviously.

26 February 2026Let me be honest — this is a lovely dram. Warm spice, vanilla, and a long honeyed finish. But at nine hundred quid I keep comparing it to other 23 year old Speysides I've had for a third of the price. The Historical Scotland connection is cool but I'm not sure it justifies the premium.
15 February 2026Rich dried fruit and beeswax on the nose, moving into stewed apples and a gentle oakiness. The 46% is a perfect strength for this — enough punch without overwhelming the delicate old spirit. Not cheap at £900 but you're paying for scarcity as much as quality.
