7.8/10George Dickel's 15 Year Old Single Barrel is a mature, composed Tennessee whiskey that showcases what extended oak ageing and charcoal mellowing can achieve. At £93.95 it's a genuine standout in a category that rarely offers this kind of age statement.

15 reviewsAt 15 years old you get a lot of oak and caramel depth that younger Dickels just can't touch. I drink this neat after dinner and it's become my go-to weekend pour. Smooth at 40% ABV, maybe too smooth — I'd love to see what a barrel proof version could do.

16 March 2026I've been working through a few single barrels lately and this Dickel is perfectly fine on the rocks. You get some nice honey and toasted oak notes but at 40% ABV it feels a bit thin compared to higher-proof offerings. Would happily drink it again, just wouldn't rush to rebuy at that price point.

1 February 2026Fifteen years does wonders here — there's a dried fruit and leather quality I don't get from their younger stuff. My wife even liked it, and she usually sticks to Irish whiskey. Poured it neat and just let it breathe for ten minutes. Really pleasant dram all round.

24 January 2026Grabbed this on a whim and honestly it punches above what I expected from George Dickel. Rich toffee and baking spice on the nose, with a long warm finish that keeps going. The 15 years in oak really shows. One of the better Tennessee whiskeys I've had this year.

25 December 2025The nose is all brown sugar and dried fruit, which I really enjoyed. Palate delivers vanilla and charcoal — classic Tennessee character. At nearly £94 though, I expected a bit more complexity for a 15-year single barrel. It's nice, just not blow-you-away nice.
