7.8/10Glencadam's 15-year-old Madeira finish is a quietly impressive Highland malt that rewards patience and attention — well-made, thoughtfully finished, and bottled at a strength that lets the cask work speak for itself.

24 reviewsI like Glencadam as a distillery but this one felt a bit one-dimensional to me. The Madeira finish gives you the expected dried fruit sweetness but it kind of dominates everything else. At nearly £100 I wanted more layers. Decent enough neat but I probably won't rebuy.

1 April 2026The Madeira cask finish really comes through here — dried fruits, a hint of nuttiness, and this gorgeous dark cherry sweetness on the palate. At 46% it's got enough punch to keep things interesting without being a bruiser. I drink it neat and it's become a regular pour for me.

25 February 2026Before you even take a sip this thing smells incredible — ripe plums, toffee, a whiff of something floral underneath. The palate follows through with that Madeira sweetness and a dry, oaky finish. Fifteen years has done this one a lot of favours. I keep going back for another nosing.

17 December 2025Poured this after a big meal and it was perfect. Sweet dried fruit, a touch of dark chocolate, and warm oak on the finish. The Madeira cask gives it an almost port-like richness without being cloying. Really well balanced at 46%.

18 November 2025It's a well-made Highland single malt with a pleasant Madeira influence — stone fruits, a bit of honey, gentle spice. Nothing wrong with it at all, but for £100 I was hoping to be blown away and I wasn't quite. A couple of drops of water open it up nicely though.

17 November 2025Good whisky, no question. You get tropical fruit on the nose and a rich, almost jammy finish from the Madeira cask. But at a hundred quid I keep thinking there are 15-year-olds out there that offer more complexity for less. Still, I'd happily accept a dram if someone's pouring.

14 November 2025Took this to our whisky club last weekend and it was the favourite of the evening, beating out bottles twice the price. The Madeira finish gives it this gorgeous red berry and raisin character, and at 46% it's incredibly drinkable. Three of us have since ordered our own bottles. Says it all really.
