8.3/10A rare Feis Ile 2007 release, this 17-year-old cask strength Laphroaig distilled in 1989 is a genuine piece of Islay history — intense, contemplative, and built for the faithful rather than the casual collector.

5 reviewsTried this at a whisky bar and it's genuinely stunning — deep iodine, sea spray, and dark chocolate on the nose, with a finish that just goes on forever. But at £900 a bottle I keep thinking about how many bottles of Quarter Cask that buys me. If money's no object, absolutely grab one.

4 December 2025I was lucky enough to grab a bottle at Feis Isle 2007 and it's one of the best Laphroaigs I've ever had. At 50.3% it carries that classic peat smoke but with this incredible layer of tropical fruit and old leather underneath. Seventeen years in the cask really mellowed the medicinal edge without killing it. Neat only, obviously.
