There's something charming about cracking open an 80s bottling like this. It's smooth at 40% with some vanilla and light toffee, maybe a hint of grain sweetness underneath. Not complex but very drinkable. I'd say it's a solid everyday blend from an era when these were made with a bit more care.

Picked this up for under a tenner and honestly it punches well above its weight. Soft honey and a touch of dried fruit on the nose, with a gentle smoky finish that reminds me this is proper Scotch. I drink it neat after dinner and it does the job perfectly. For £9.95 you really can't complain.

It's fine. Light bodied with some malt and a wisp of smoke, but it fades pretty quickly. I've had other blends from this period that had more character. At this price it's fair value for a vintage curiosity, just don't expect fireworks.
