There is a lot to like about Beer Review: New Belgium Brewing Oakspire on paper. , let us see if it lives up to expectations.
Nose
A color reminiscent of vibrant mahogany. Head is rich and foamy. Aromas of vanilla malt, toffee ice cream, and orange peel
Finish
Beer has a well rounded and creamy mouth-feel. Flavors include lemon curd, nutmeg, cedar and toasted almonds. Finish lingers with notes of barrel spice and hops married together equally. Final Thoughts: New Belgium’s collaboration with Four Roses is a very well rounded and a finely crafted addition to their line-up. The beer is deep but also refreshing and showcases some of the best flavors from the brewery and distillery. It’s too bad that this is currently only a seasonal offering as it is easy to recommend anytime.
The Bottom Line
Beer Review: New Belgium Brewing Oakspire is worth a try if it crosses your path. It may not redefine the category, but it has enough going on to keep things interesting.
