I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Little Book Chapter 6: To The Finish. , it promises genuine character.
Nose
Dark amber, almost orange. Solid legs on the side of the glass.
Palate
Honeysuckle, cherry, caramelized brown sugar. More fruity than woody, with a hint of cinnamon.
Finish
An earthiness comes through at the start, mossy and reminiscent of wild mushrooms. There’s spice and a viscous mouthfeel. This is a rich-tasting whiskey, almost luxurious. Cinnamon spice and smoked walnuts at the finish. “To The Finish” is supposedly inspired by Freddie’s passion for both whiskey-making and cooking, and his curiosity about how flavors come together to complement each other in each case. It’s an intense whiskey, and improves with a splash of water. For the second year in a row, however, I’m a fan of what Freddie Noe is cooking up with this label.
The Bottom Line
Little Book Chapter 6: To The Finish delivers the goods. It is well-made, genuinely enjoyable, and represents solid value for what you are getting. I would happily buy this again.
