I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Woodford Reserve Toasted Oak Oat Grain. Bottled at 45.2% ABV), mash bill: 66% corn, 18% oats, 12% mal and priced at $642.00. Smoky and delicately aromatic with a low burn on the nose, it promises genuine character.
Nose
Smoky and delicately aromatic with a low burn on the nose. Caramel and zesty citrus peel come through, with notes of honeysuckle and a touch of rosemary.
Palate
A slightly malty toasted cinnamon flavor is rounded out nicely with dried citrus fruit, smoky pine, and grassy notes. Enticingly herbaceous with lush earthiness and a clean woodiness. Highly complex with notes of warm cinnamon, toasted oats, and citrus peel zestiness, all perfectly balanced with a long and satisfying finish. Overall, smooth, decadent, and absolutely delicious for sipping neat.
