Nose
Fragrant salt and spice notes initially shine before flavor notes of orchard fruit, hints of diluted black coffee, caramel, old wood, and golden raisins come into play.
Palate
Lush red fruit and spices permeate the front of the palate followed by notes of black pepper, vanilla clove, deep oak, and salted dry roasted nuts, with hints of spicy buttered toffee, dry sherry, and black truffles. The dry, slightly grainy texture gives way to a long finish with an endless array of well-balanced flavors. Theres an intriguing depth of character with a well executed complexity. Simply put, this is a splendid Islay whisky that deserves to be sipped neat to fully appreciate all of the elements and thoughtful crafting that went into it.
