Whisky Review: Royal Brackla 18-Year-Old landed on my desk at 46% ABV, 92 Proof, carrying a $299.99 Subtle and mellow at first blush, with green apple, and a pleasant airy oakiness price tag. With 18 years of age behind it, Here is what I found.
Subtle and mellow at first blush, with green apple, and a pleasant airy oakiness. The sherrys influence is there, but it took a few good sniffs to lock it down. What was good enough for the King in 1833 should certainly be enough to satisfy a lowly commoner like me, but I was left underwhelmed. This single malt Scotch whisky is fine, but thats maybe why I was left wanting more its just fine. The Bottom Line
Whisky Review: Royal Brackla 18-Year-Old is fine — not bad, not great, just fine. At $299.99 Subtle and mellow at first blush, with green apple, and a pleasant airy oakiness, I think there are better options in this range if you are willing to look around.
