Nose
The bourbon is a medium tone, golden chestnut color.
Palate
Much of the ordinary bourbon scents vanilla, cherry, nuttiness, and a hint of orange. Theres a bite mid-palate, which is pretty much when the flavor kicks in. Notes of roasted sweet potato, vanilla bean, and bittersweet chocolate are present, along with the faint presence of baked goods, reminding me most of a coffee cake.
Finish
I found this to be a fully capable bourbon, with a simple flavor profile and a bit more astringency than I prefer in a bourbon. That said, I love a good choice for a cocktail, and this would be as delightful as anything in a nice, chilled Boulevardier.
